# Petitext

> Petitext provides dedicated US and Canada virtual phone numbers that operate entirely
> through email. Inbound SMS/MMS is forwarded to the user's email inbox; the user replies
> by email and the reply is delivered as an SMS from their virtual number. Users can also
> initiate conversations by putting the recipient's phone number in the email subject line.

## Key facts
- Numbers available: United States and Canada
- Can text international recipients from a US/CA number
- No app required — works entirely from any email inbox
- To text someone first: email messages@petitext.com and put the recipient's number
  (with country code, e.g. +1 604 330 2816) in the email subject line; the email body
  becomes the SMS. Other text may share the subject line as long as the number stays
  in one contiguous piece. The subject line is never sent.
- One-time passes (never renew, simply expire): Day Pass $1.99 USD (1 day),
  3-Day Pass $3.99 USD (3 days), Weekly Pass $8.99 USD (7 days)
- Monthly Pass $10.99 USD/month: a recurring subscription that renews automatically
  until cancelled. Keeps the same virtual number for as long as the plan is active.
  Cancel anytime — self-service, via the cancellation link in the subscription
  confirmation email; the number stays active until the end of the paid month.
  No partial refunds. A failed renewal payment does NOT end the plan early — the
  month already paid for runs to its scheduled end date and the number keeps
  working until then; the subscription simply is not extended into the next month.
- Outgoing message limits per plan: Day Pass 50, 3-Day Pass 200, Weekly Pass 500,
  Monthly Pass 1,000 per month. Inbound messages are unlimited on every plan.
- Messages typically deliver within 3 seconds
- MMS (photos/media) supported on a best-effort basis
- Person-to-person conversational messaging only. Bulk, automated, broadcast, and
  marketing messages are prohibited.
- Numbers are VoIP-classified and are NOT reliable for receiving one-time passcodes (OTP)
  or verification codes from services that block virtual numbers.
