Messaging Policy

Effective Date: April 24, 2026

Legal Company Name: 0981308 B.C. Ltd.

DBA: Petitext

This Messaging Policy describes how Petitext ("we", "our", "us"), operated by 0981308 B.C. Ltd., a corporation registered in British Columbia, Canada, delivers person-to-person (P2P) conversational SMS messaging in compliance with the CTIA Messaging Principles and Best Practices and carrier acceptable-use policies. It supplements our Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy.

1. Program Name and Description

Program: Petitext Virtual Number Service. Petitext is a dedicated virtual phone number rental platform that provides subscribers with a number they can publish or share on classified listings, ads, profiles, business cards, signatures, or other non-SMS channels. Outbound SMS from a rented number is human-composed and person-to-person: a reply to a third party who texted the rental number, or a conversation the subscriber personally initiates with a single recipient by email (the recipient's phone number in the subject line, the email body delivered as the SMS). Each subscriber rents a dedicated number for a fixed rental period (1, 3, or 7 days). We do not send marketing, promotional, or broadcast SMS to any number.

2. How You Opt In

You opt in to Petitext's messaging service by:

  • Creating a rental on petitext.com
  • Providing your email address
  • Checking the consent box acknowledging our Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy, and this Messaging Policy

No separate SMS opt-in to your personal mobile number is collected or required — all operational notifications from Petitext are delivered by email.

3. What Messages You Will Receive

Operational notifications (delivered by email, not SMS):

  • Rental activation: confirms your assigned number and expiry date
  • Rental expiry warning: reminds you approximately 2 hours before your rental ends
  • Billing receipts: confirms payment and rental period

Your rented Petitext virtual number is used solely for receiving inbound SMS from third parties who choose to text you, and for your replies back to those third parties. The Petitext service itself does not originate marketing, promotional, or broadcast SMS to any number.

Conversational P2P model: every outbound SMS from your rental number is composed by you, in your own email client, to a single recipient — either as a reply to someone who texted your number, or as the first message of a personal conversation you initiate by emailing the platform with the recipient's phone number in the subject line. There is no bulk send, no templates, no scheduling, and no API. STOP requests from any recipient immediately suppress further outbound to that recipient, in line with CTIA Messaging Principles and Best Practices.

4. Sample Messages — Automated SMS Originated by Petitext

Petitext originates automated SMS from your rented number only as keyword replies (STOP / HELP / START) in response to messages received by your rented number. These are the exact texts:

  • STOP: "Petitext: You have successfully been unsubscribed, you will not receive any more messages from this number. Reply START to re-subscribe."
  • HELP: "Petitext: Virtual number service. For help visit petitext.com or email support@corporate.petitext.com. Msg freq varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out."
  • START (opt-back-in): "Petitext: Thanks for subscribing! Reply HELP for help. Msg frequency may vary. Msg & data rates may apply. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Reply STOP to opt out."

5. Message Frequency

Automated Petitext replies occur only in response to HELP, STOP, or START keywords received by your rented number from third-party senders. The frequency is low — typically zero for a given rental period unless keywords are triggered. Conversational outbound SMS is human-composed and sent to one recipient at a time, and is capped by per-plan active-conversation and outbound-message limits documented in our Terms and Conditions §4.

6. Message and Data Rates

Standard mobile carrier message and data rates may apply to SMS sent from your personal mobile carrier to any phone number. Recipients' standard rates also apply. Petitext is not responsible for carrier charges incurred by you or your contacts.

7. Opt-Out and Opt-In

Opt-out: Any recipient can reply STOP to a message from a Petitext rental number to be unsubscribed. Opt-outs are recorded and enforced per rental number automatically.

Opt-in (resubscribe): Reply START to resubscribe after a previous opt-out.

Account-level opt-out: You can stop the service entirely by letting your rental expire, or by emailing support@corporate.petitext.com.

8. Prohibited Uses

Petitext is for person-to-person conversational messaging only: every message is personally composed and sent to a single individual recipient. You may initiate a conversation, but never to a list and never through automation. We prohibit and will terminate accounts engaged in:

  • Messaging lists of numbers — purchased, scraped, or collected
  • Attempting to circumvent conversation, volume, or recipient limits through any technical or social means
  • Spam, bulk outreach, or unsolicited broadcast messaging
  • Marketing or promotional SMS campaigns
  • SHAFT content: Sex/adult, Hate speech, Alcohol to minors, Firearms (unlicensed), Tobacco/cannabis
  • SMS verification for services that prohibit virtual numbers
  • Automated or bot-generated messages
  • Harassment, impersonation, fraud, or phishing
  • Any use that violates carrier messaging rules or acceptable-use policies

Accounts violating these rules are terminated immediately and without refund. We cooperate with carriers and law enforcement when required by law.
