Welcome to Petitext ("the Service"), operated by 0981308 B.C. Ltd., a corporation registered in British Columbia, Canada ("we", "us", "our").

By using Petitext, you agree to these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree, you must discontinue using the Service immediately.

Petitext is a virtual phone number rental platform that provides subscribers with a dedicated virtual number which they can publish or share on classified listings, ads, profiles, business cards, signatures, or anywhere else they want people to be able to reach them. Each subscriber is assigned a unique number for a defined rental period (1, 3, 7, or 30 days; the 30-day Monthly Pass renews automatically until cancelled — see Section 8).

The Service operates on a person-to-person conversational model:

• Inbound SMS sent to your rented number is forwarded to your verified email inbox;
• You may reply to that conversation by email, and your reply is relayed back as SMS from your rented number;
• You may also initiate a conversation with a single, specific recipient by sending an email with the recipient's phone number (including country code) in the subject line; the email body is delivered as an SMS from your rented number. Every outbound message is composed by you and sent to one recipient — there is no bulk, broadcast, or automated sending.
• Account-related notifications regarding rental status, expiry, and billing are delivered by email.

Each subscriber receives a dedicated virtual number for the exclusive duration of their rental period. After expiry, the number is released back to our upstream carrier (Telnyx) and may be reassigned to a different subscriber in a future rental — numbers are pooled across rental cycles, but are never shared concurrently between active renters. Petitext does not control or edit message content.

To use Petitext, you must:

• Be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction);
• Provide a valid email address for communication;
• Use the Service only for lawful and personal or business-related purposes;
• Agree to comply with applicable telecommunications and privacy laws.

Petitext does not require account creation or password setup.

You provide your email address and payment information during setup. That email becomes the unique identifier for your use of the Service.

Petitext will use that email for:

• Account notifications (rental activation, expiry notices, service updates);
• Billing notices and policy changes.

While email verification is not mandatory, users must provide a valid and accessible email address to use the Service effectively.

Petitext is intended for low-volume, conversational, person-to-person SMS communications only. You agree to use the Service in compliance with the following rules:

Permitted Use

Outgoing-message limits apply per rental period and vary by plan (inbound messages are unlimited):

• Outbound SMS is permitted only as part of a one-to-one conversation — a reply, or a first message you personally compose to a single, specific recipient;
• Messages must be conversational and personal in nature.

Prohibited Use

You agree not to use Petitext for:

• Messaging lists of numbers — every message must be personally composed to a single recipient (see Permitted Use above);
• Attempting to circumvent conversation, volume, or recipient limits through any technical or social means;
• Spam, bulk marketing, broadcast, or unsolicited mass messaging;
• Fraud, impersonation, phishing, harassment, or abusive behavior;
• SHAFT content: Sex (adult content), Hate speech, Alcohol (to minors), Firearms (unlicensed), Tobacco/Cannabis;
• Automated or bot-generated messages;
• Unlicensed lending, financing, or debt collection;
• Illegal, defamatory, or obscene communications;
• Any activity violating applicable local or international law, including telecom and data protection regulations.

Petitext reserves the right to suspend or terminate service immediately and without notice for any violation of this Acceptable Use Policy.

Petitext complies with CTIA Messaging Principles and Best Practices and carrier requirements for person-to-person (P2P) conversational messaging.

Messaging is person-to-person and consent-based. When you reply, the recipient's own inbound SMS establishes the conversation. When you initiate a conversation, you write personally to one individual recipient — never to a list, and never through automation. Opt-outs are enforced at the relay layer: once a recipient replies STOP, outbound delivery to that recipient from your rental number is suppressed and renters have no mechanism to bypass this constraint.

Petitext automatically manages STOP, HELP, and START keyword replies to maintain compliance.

By using Petitext, you agree that:

• You will send messages only as part of personal, one-to-one conversations — never to lists of numbers, and never through automation;
• You will respect opt-out requests immediately and not re-contact opted-out recipients;
• You will not attempt to obtain phone numbers and induce them to text your rental number through deceptive or coercive means.

Program Description

Petitext provides dedicated virtual phone numbers for private, two-way SMS communication. Each subscriber is assigned a unique number for conversational messaging with their personal contacts.

Message frequency varies based on subscriber usage.

Opt-Out

Reply STOP to any message to opt out of further communications. You will receive a confirmation and no further messages will be sent.

Standard message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier plan.

Consent

Consent to receive SMS through the Petitext platform is not a condition of purchase. You may use the Service without opting in to receive SMS notifications to your personal mobile number.

Keyword Responses

• START — Opt in: “Petitext: Thanks for subscribing! Reply HELP for help. Msg frequency may vary. Msg & data rates may apply. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Reply STOP to opt out."
• STOP — Opt out: “Petitext: You have successfully been unsubscribed, you will not receive any more messages from this number. Reply START to re-subscribe."

Petitext collects and stores only the information necessary to operate the Service, including:

• Email addresses;
• Phone numbers;
• Message content and logs (for delivery and troubleshooting);
• Payment information processed securely via third-party providers.

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with unaffiliated third parties.

Data may be stored in Canada and/or the United States and handled in compliance with applicable privacy laws.

Petitext is a paid subscription or pay-per-use service.

By submitting payment, you authorize us to charge applicable fees and taxes using the payment method you provide.

Currency

All prices are stated and charged in United States dollars (USD), regardless of where you are located. If your payment method is denominated in another currency, your bank, card issuer, or payment provider performs the conversion and may add its own exchange rate margin or foreign-transaction fee. Petitext does not set, control, or receive any part of those conversion rates or fees, and refunds are issued in USD — the amount you receive in your local currency may differ from the amount originally debited because of exchange-rate movement.

One-Time Passes

The Day, 3-Day, and Weekly Passes are single charges. They do not renew: when the rental period ends, service stops and the number is released.

Monthly Pass (Recurring)

The Monthly Pass is a subscription. It renews automatically every 30 days at the then-current price, charged to your payment method, until you cancel.

You may cancel at any time using the cancellation link in your confirmation email, or by contacting support. Cancelling stops the renewal — it does not end your Monthly Pass early. On cancellation:

• Your virtual number stays active until the end of the billing month you have already paid for;
• The subscription does not renew after that date, and your payment method is not charged again;
• No refund, partial or otherwise, is issued — you keep the service you paid for until it lapses;
• When that date passes, the number is released to our carrier and cannot be recovered.

Because your number remains active until that date, the one-active-number-per-email limit still applies during that period: you cannot purchase a new number using the same email address until your current one expires.

One-time passes are likewise not refundable once the number is assigned. Accounts terminated for violating these Terms or the Messaging Policy are terminated without refund (see Section 10).

Failed Renewal Payments

If a renewal charge is declined or otherwise fails, the subscription is not extended into the new period — but the period you have already paid for is not cut short:

• Your virtual number stays active and keeps forwarding messages until the end of the billing month you have already paid for;
• The subscription does not continue past that date, and your payment method is not charged for the new period;
• When that date passes, the number is released to our carrier and cannot be recovered or reassigned to you;
• No refund is due, because the new period was never charged.

The practical effect is the same as cancelling: you keep the time you paid for, and nothing renews after it. Keep your payment method current if you want to keep your number. To continue using Petitext once that period ends, you must start a new rental, which will be assigned a different number.

Price Changes

We may change our prices. For one-time passes, the price shown at the time of purchase is the price you pay; a change never applies retroactively.

For the recurring Monthly Pass, we will give you at least 30 days' advance notice by email before any renewal is charged at a new price. The notice will state the current price, the new price, and the date it takes effect. You may cancel at any time before that date and will not be charged the new price. We will not charge an increased price without that advance notice. If you do not cancel before the stated date, the next renewal is charged at the new price.

Refunds

Petitext does not offer refunds in the ordinary course: one-time passes are non-refundable once a number is assigned, and cancelling the Monthly Pass ends the renewal without a partial refund, as described above.

Where we do issue a refund — at our discretion, or where required by law — it is returned to the original payment method and cannot be sent anywhere else. Refunds are issued in USD, normally appear within 5–10 business days depending on your bank or card issuer, and include any tax charged on the refunded amount.

Petitext relies on external telecom networks and email systems.

We do not guarantee successful or timely message delivery.

Petitext is not liable for:

• Delayed, failed, or lost messages;
• Issues arising from third-party carrier restrictions or spam filters.

You may cancel your use of Petitext at any time. If you hold a Monthly Pass, use the cancellation link in your confirmation email — this stops the renewal, and your number stays active until the end of the month you have already paid for, with no partial refund, as described in Section 8. You may also cancel by contacting support@petitext.com.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate service without prior notice if:

• You violate these Terms;
• Your use triggers carrier or compliance violations;
• Fraudulent activity occurs.

Service terminated for any of the reasons above is terminated without refund, and ends immediately rather than running to the end of a paid period.

A failed renewal payment is different: it does not end your Monthly Pass early. The period you have already paid for runs to its scheduled end date, and the subscription simply does not continue past it, as described in Section 8. Nothing was charged for the new period, so no refund arises.

After termination, associated message data may be deleted after a reasonable retention period.

All intellectual property in the Petitext platform and software belongs to 0981308 B.C. Ltd.. You retain ownership of the content of your messages.

By using Petitext, you grant us a limited license to process and transmit your messages solely for service delivery.

Petitext is provided "as is" and "as available," without any warranties of any kind, express or implied. We disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, 0981308 B.C. Ltd. shall not be liable for any indirect, consequential, incidental, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of Petitext.

Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the total amount paid for the Service in the three (3) months prior to the claim.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless 0981308 B.C. Ltd., its officers, employees, and affiliates from any losses, claims, or damages arising from your use of Petitext or violation of these Terms.

We may update these Terms from time to time.

Updated versions will be posted on this page with a new "Effective Date." Continued use of Petitext after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflicts of law principles.
